We were recently asked by Zenith Flooring to carry out chasing work for electrical floorboxes at a site in Milton Keynes. The original plan was to complete 60 metres of chasing and 17 floorboxes. However, once on site, the project scope expanded significantly, with us cutting around 450m of chasing and 18 floorboxes in total.
We knew from the outset that precision and efficiency would be key. Our team set out to deliver a smooth, clean finish that would allow the electrical installation to move forward without delay.
For the cutting, we brought along our brand-new Lissmac electric floor saw. It’s perfectly suited for floor sawing and concrete slab sawing, giving us the accuracy and depth we needed to create neat, straight chase lines. Once the cutting was complete, we switched to Hilti TE1000 breakers to carefully break out the concrete sections and form the floorbox openings.
We started with two operatives on site and then increased to three for the final days to keep everything on track. Thanks to the quality of our equipment and the experience of our team, we made excellent progress and kept well ahead of schedule.
As with every project we deliver, cleanliness was a top priority. We used our high-quality wet vac system to manage slurry and debris throughout the cutting and breaking, which meant the site was left exactly as it was when we arrived. This allowed Zenith Flooring to continue with their work straight away, without any extra tidying or downtime.
