What is Diamond Drilling?
Diamond Drilling, cutting and sawing is a form of core drilling which uses a rotary drill with a diamond attachment in order to create precisely measured holes or cuts. As diamond is the hardest naturally occurring material in the world, it is ideal for creating precise and neat openings in robust materials such as concrete, brick, stone, asphalt and marble.

There’s no limit to the depth we can drill, there’s always a way or a machine that can drill for many metres, our deepest holes have been 6 metres deep using a 200mm diameter core bit.
Do you have to use water when sawing through concrete?
It very much depends on the diamond blade. If using a dry-cutting blade you can saw with or without water, whereas a swe blade must be used with water.

What kind of drills do you use for commercial projects?
We use all sorts of drills depending on what we need to accomplish!  From hand held drills for smaller holes or holes in tight areas to create 50mm – 450mm size holes. Anything bigger we will use hydraulic motors.
What kind of cutting equipment do you use for commercial projects?
Drilling rigs, hydraulic handsaws and large scale drilling equipment.  From floor saws such as 14hp to 70hp to track saws for big cutting jobs.
What kind of drill bits do you use commercially?
We use diamond tipped drill bits for coring through reinforced concrete, we use a soft bond segment for harder concrete, concrete with flint or granite aggregate. We have a very special soft bond segment to be able to drill through this certain type of concrete which is found more in the London area and Norfolk.
What kind of drill bits do you use domestically?
Domestically we can use soft bond segments on our bits but because the walls or floors are usually brick and block which is soft or concrete with no reinforcement we can use hard bonded segments, which produce more life. Brick, block and concrete in houses is usually very soft, especially compared to the pre cast panels or reinforced concrete found on commercial buildings.
