We were asked to support one of our civil contractors, Alliance, on a residential development in Derbyshire. The project involved modifying precast concrete garden walls at a number of new build homes, cutting them down to varying finished heights to suit the final landscaping and boundary layouts.
Because the walls were already installed, the work needed to be carried out safely, cleanly, and with full control to avoid damage to surrounding areas. The chosen method also needed to reduce physical strain on operatives and eliminate unnecessary vibration.
To complete the cuts accurately and efficiently, we used our Pentruder track saw system. This setup allowed us to make straight, consistent horizontal cuts through the precast concrete walls, regardless of the required finished height.
The track-mounted system provided excellent stability and control, meaning each wall could be cut down cleanly without relying on handheld saws. This approach significantly reduced hand-arm vibration and improved overall site safety, while also delivering a far more consistent finish.
Each cut was carefully planned and executed to ensure the walls were left square, even, and ready for the next stage of the build.
