We were recently called to Pencoed, South Wales, by Bluma to assist with specialist drilling work at a new energy centre. The task was to drill a series of precise 22mm core holes that would allow oil motors to be securely bolted to the ground.
With accuracy being essential for the mechanical installation, our team was brought in to ensure the holes were drilled cleanly, positioned perfectly, and ready for immediate use. This was a great example of where our diamond drilling services and expertise make all the difference.
Our team attended the site with our specialist lightweight core drilling equipment, perfectly suited for small-diameter precision drilling. The 22mm holes needed to be positioned exactly to match the bolt pattern for the oil motors, so we took careful measurements before marking out every fixing point.
Using diamond-tipped core bits, we drilled each hole cleanly through the concrete floor slab. The diamond drilling method allowed us to create accurate, straight openings without vibration or damage to the surrounding surface, which is key when working in a new energy facility.
Dust and debris were kept fully under control throughout, ensuring a safe and tidy work area for the client and other contractors.
All holes were drilled to the exact depth and diameter required for the fixing bolts. Bluma were able to install the oil motors afterwards with no adjustments needed, thanks to the accuracy of our drilling and the neat finish of each opening.
