Deep Trench Cutting for Service Installations

Liverpool
DT Hughes

Project Brief

We were recently asked to support DT Hughes on a project in Liverpool that required specialist trench cutting through reinforced concrete. The trenches were needed to accommodate new service runs, and the work required accurate, controlled cutting to a depth of 320mm.

With depth, straightness, and clean edges all being crucial for the client’s installation process, we used our Husqvarna FS7000 floor saw, which was the best tool for the job.

The Process

The Husqvarna FS7000 is a powerful, high-performance floor saw designed for deep and consistent floor sawing. Its capability to cut reliably at 320mm made it the ideal choice for this project. Once the saw was set up and our cut lines were marked, we began working through the concrete slab in controlled passes, ensuring accuracy along the full length of each trench.

Using a water-suppressed cutting method allowed us to not only achieve a clean finish, but also keep dust and debris under control throughout the process. This ensured a safer and tidier working area for both our team and the other trades on site.

Once the cutting was complete, the concrete sections were ready for breakout so DT Hughes could move forward with their installation works without delay.

Clean, Accurate Results

The trenches were cut to the exact depth and width required, leaving straight edges and a clean profile ready for services to be installed. The FS7000 performed exceptionally well, and the controlled approach of our operatives meant the job progressed smoothly from start to finish.

Both the client and the site team were pleased with the speed and accuracy of the work, allowing the next phase of the project to continue as planned.
