We were recently called to Clarke Energy in Blackburn for an emergency project after their previous contractor failed to complete the necessary work. With the client facing a potential fine of £35,000 per day starting Monday, it was necessary for us to complete the job efficiently and professionally. The job involved creating a precise core opening measuring 350x500mm from the side of a concrete plinth to meet up with an existing vertical opening. Once we core drilled the opening, we needed to break out the centre to form a complete passage. Additionally, we had to core a 100mm hole down to the depth of the embedded steel, then break around it to enable the installation of an earth cable clamp. Working during this tight time frame required flawless co-ordination and expertise from our CHAS-accredited team, and we did not let the client down.
To tackle this urgent project, our team travelled to Blackburn with our state-of-the-art diamond drilling and concrete wall sawing tools. Our first step was to accurately mark the required dimensions and set up our equipment to ensure precise cutting.

Once this stage was complete, we moved on to core the 100mm hole down to the steel reinforcement. After coring, we broke around the hole, exposing the steel for the installation of the earth cable clamp.
